Our Story

Hotel Tugos was established on March 22, 2019, as a family-owned business. The parents of the owners used to work in the hotel industry, and the initial idea of the business was to establish a trading company. However, the idea of opening a hotel came up when a teacher from China was looking for a place to stay in Baguio, but most of the hotels were fully booked. Acknowledging the demand for accommodations in Baguio, the owners made the decision to establish a hotel that would cater not only to visitors but also to everyone seeking relaxation and a comfortable place to stay. Since then, Hotel Tugos has been providing quality service and hospitality to tourists visiting Baguio.

The hotel is named Hotel Tugos, after the great grandfather of the owner. One day, he visited the barbershop to get a haircut but fell asleep without specifying the desired style. Consequently, the barber ended up giving him a bald cut. Coincidentally, the great grandfather's favorite TV show was "Pugo and Togo," a Filipino comedy team famous for their bald heads. These comedians were prominent in Philippine movies from the 1940s to the 1950s. Since the great grandfather also had a bald head resembling the comedians, he earned the nickname "Tugos," which has stuck ever since.

Hotel Tugos is a boutique hotel offering 31 exclusive rooms in the heart of Baguio. It is a 12-minute walk from Burnham Park and close to all major tourist attractions. The hotel offers an impressive range of facilities, including air conditioning, a seating area, and cable channels in every room. All rooms are equipped with private bathrooms with a complimentary toiletries set and hairdryer. Also included are bed linen, towels, as well as safe deposit boxes.
